The word pranayama means extension and expansion of our vital energy, our vitality and our divine light. Pranayama is not a normal breathing, nor is it simply a deep breathing. It is a technique of generating vital cosmic energies through the elemental fusion of fire and water. These energies spread through the nervous system and into the blood stream and the power is distributed throughout the body, nurturing every single cell. Through the practice of pranayama, we will clear the mind, the emotions, the thoughts, and we will discover another sense of the Sensitivity of Ourselves, appreciating the gift of the breath as the gift of the life. The respiratory system will enlarge and a deeper state of happiness will shine from the heart. The connection that the practice of Pranayama establishes in the human body needs to be learned and cultivated. The petals of the lotus will blossom from inside.
